Onychomycosis (fungal nail)

Target pathagens under the nail plate to eliminate fungal infection.

Nails are made up of a tough protective protein called alpha-keratin. When constantly exposed to warm and damp environments fungi can thrive under and around the nail, leading to a fungal nail infection.

How does it work?

Fungus present under and around the nail absorb the laser light energy creating non-specific photothermal damage and denaturation of the fungus pathogen which deactivates the fungus.

How many treatments will I need?

Suitable for skin types I to III with a minimum of 2-3 treatments and session intervals between 4-5 weeks. Additional treatments may be required if no changes are made by the client to the environment conditions responsible for the fungal nail.

The Dermalux LED phototherapy treatment can added to this nail treatment, using clinically proven wavelengths to accelerate healing.

A diagnosis by a medical professional to confirm the presence of a treatable fungal nail pathogen is recommended before commencing treatment.
